SASensor covers a wide range of functionality to monitor the behaviour of both the power system and SASensor itself.
System Measurements
All possible power system quantities are either directly measured or calculated within the software.
The following measurements are available:
- Urms and Irms (Three phase and neutral)
- Power frequency (Hz)
- Active power (kW), Reactive power (kVAr) and Apparent power (kVA)
- Power factor
- Phase angles (f or phi)
- Symmetrial component of current and voltage
- Thermal currents Itherm and IthermMAX as indication for the load on each bay
- Active and reactive energy metering (4 quadrant)

Historic data give insight in the power system behaviour.
Historic data is stored in an open format on disk.
Power Quality
SASensor continuously calculates and records all Power Quality related quantities according to EN60150 and IEC 61000-4-30
Power Quality measurement provides the right insight to monitor your performance and to create better customer value.
Digital Fault Recording
The Digital Fault Recording (DFR) continuously monitors the operation of the electric power system, detects the abnormal conditions in outgoing feeders, and automatically records detailed voltage, current, contact status and other related information during the abnormal condition. Next the DFR provides data for the post fault analysis. Automatic monitoring of process disturbances enables the possibility for better process diagnostics. Using the DFR data, utilities are enabled to locate faults much quicker and to solve problems more efficiently. DFR is an significant contribution to improve process efficiency and decrease operational expenditures.
Alarm and Event Recording
Alarms and events are logged with time stamp, object and message. A list displays alarms and events always in sequence of appearances. Several alarming levels can be distinguished for different operator actions. Alarms can be combined with an audible alarm (horn) or with a visible alarm (lamp).
